Scam alert in Nenagh district

Gardaí are again urging the public to be alert to all sorts of scams presently going around.

In recent weeks, a person had almost €8,000 stolen from their bank account after they gave information to criminals on their mobile phone, believing them to be from their bank. Sgt Declan O’Carroll of Nenagh Garda Station has urged extreme caution as these types of fraud related crimes are now very common.

There is a second scam also doing the rounds where criminals are presenting as county council staff in some areas of the country. The public is advised not to engage with such callers and instead contact your local gardaí.
