ICMSA President and Tipperary farmer, Pat McCormack

Large Tipp contingent expected for ICMSA AGM

The traditionally large Tipp contingents will be expected to travel to the Limerick Radisson on Friday, November 17, for the AGM of the specialist dairy farmer organisation, ICMSA.

The association has a large and engaged membership all over the county, but particularly in the milk producing areas of North and Mid Tipperary and the local members will be expected to turnout for a line-up of speakers that begins with Minister McConalogue, ICMSA President and Tipperary farmer, Pat McCormack, An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar and ends with the Minister for Transport, Environmental, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan – a very controversial figure for farmers and one who has been the recipient of serious and sustained criticism from ICMSA. In what has been an extremely challenging year for Ireland’s critical dairy sector and one that was, according to ICMSA, most certainly not helped by Government policy, it’s probable that the problems in and around milk production will dominate and while the ICMSA will absolutely insist on decorum and proper procedure being observed, it seems that there will be a deal of straight-talking to the politicians attending and in the best traditions of the association, as many questions as possible will be taken from the floor so no-one will be left in any doubt as to the depth of feeling and frustration being experienced by members.

There is an upper limit on the number who can attend and those Tipperary members intending to travel for the AGM and stay for the dinner that traditionally ends the day must contact ICMSA at 061-314677 or info@icmsa.ie and confirm if they are not to miss out.
