Budget lump sum payments to be paid

Local Fianna Fáil TD, Jackie Cahill, has said the first of the cost of living lump sum payments included in Budget 2024 will be paid this week. The €300 Fuel Allowance lump sum, €400 Working Family Payment lump sum and €400 Disability support grant will all be paid during the week started on Monday, November 20.

Deputy Cahill said: “Tackling the cost of living crisis was a key priority for Fianna Fáil in Budget 2024 and remains a top priority for us in Government. I know that families in Tipperary are trying to cope with the rising cost of essential items and services.

“Starting from last Monday, the €300 Fuel Allowance lump sum, €400 Working Family Payment lump sum and €400 Disability Support Grant will be paid, in what are the first payments of the range of lump sum payments we introduced to help with the cost of living.

“I know that these lump sums will make a real difference for families and help to ease the pressure at a time when the cost of living is so high.”

Further cost of living lump sum payments will be made over the coming weeks.

During the week commencing November 27, the €200 Living Alone Allowance Lump Sum, €400 Carer’s Support Grant and €100 per Increase for a Qualified Child Payment will be paid. On December 4, the Christmas Bonus Payment and Double Child Benefit Bonus Payment will be paid.

From January, there will be a €12 Increase in all weekly Welfare & Pension Payments and during the week commencing January 29 the Cost of Living Double Payment will be paid.
