Don't miss the Christmas Market on Sunday, December 2, at Leamy Farm in Silvermines. There will be a feast of festive family entertainment at the event.

Christmas is in the air in Silvermines

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas down on Leamy Farm. Marquees are appearing with dance floors being laid, Santa's cottage is getting its final touches, lights are being hung, stables are being cleared to make room for the Christmas crafts and fayre and Farmer Maurice is even out power washing the yard!

It’s all getting prepared for the Christmas Market on Sunday, December 2, at Leamy Farm in Silvermines. It promises to be a great event, kicking off at 2pm with the arrival of Santa amd Mrs Claus on board the Polar Express road-train from Silvermines Village. Parking for the event will be in Silvermines Village with a regular shuttle service bringing patrons to and from the farm.

A market street has been created on the farm with multiple stall holders selling their Christmas fayre of crafts, hot beverages, artisan food and lots of choice for Christmas presents.

There is a carnival carousel and games to enjoy all the fun of the fair whilst you wait your turn to visit Santa in his country cottage.

Mrs Claus is on hand to greet every visitor and to check has Santa got you on his list! Further down the farm visitors will come upon a stable of the nativity to silently watch the live crib with real animals and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas, and everyone will also be able to take mystery train ride around the farm to see if they can spot The Grinch!

LIVE MUSIC

From 3pm there is live music at the dancehall marquee with old time favourites from Phil Maher and the Castlettes. Social dancers are very welcome as are those who wish to give a tune or sing a Christmas carol.

The whole event promises to be a great day out for all the family and the start of the Christmas season in the Silvermines.

Up for grabs on the day will be a wonderful raffle prize in association with JKC's Toymaster Nenagh for a €500 voucher for toys at the popular Nenagh store.

Patrons should note there is no parking on site at the farm, and that transport to the event is via a shuttle service from Silvermines only from 1.40pm on the day.
