Cloughjordan FC win €10k in Circle K Grassroots

Circle K, Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer, and title sponsors of the FAI Club Mark Programme has announced that Cloughjordan FC has won €10,000, as part of Circle K’s €100,000 giveaway to grassroots football clubs across the Republic of Ireland.

Cloughjordan FC become the second North Tipperary club to win €10,000, after Moneygall FC were named as one of the first winners last week.

Cloughjordan FC club members were given the good news by FAI Grassroots Director, Ger McDermott, and Circle K Ireland’s Retail Director of Operations Paul Dixon.

Both congratulated the club on their win, which came thanks to the support of club members and locals who entered on their behalf. The club was randomly selected from hundreds of clubs across Ireland, all of whom are still in with a chance to win.

Cloughjordan FC committee members Eoin Killackey and Kevin Kennedy were presented with their €10,000 cheque at the club’s grounds by Eddie Cleary, owner at Circle K Express Nenagh.

Eoin Killackey said: “We’re really proud of the work we do at the club to ensure good governance, something that the Circle K FAI Club Mark scheme has been a great help with. We’re absolutely delighted with this win, and want to thank everyone who nominated us for this competition from Circle K. We’re looking forward to putting the money to good use for the benefit of our brilliant club members.”

There is still €60,000 left to be won and club members and people in their communities across the Republic of Ireland can give their club a chance of winning up to €30,000. The draw is open to any club that is registered for the Circle K FAI Club Mark Programme, which aims to provide clubs with a road map to good governance, reward clubs for achieving and maintaining high standards, recognise clubs for their commitment and achievements and help grow football in communities across the country.

To enter the competition customers must download the Circle K app and register for PLAY or PARK, Circle K’s loyalty programme. Then, simply select your chosen football club within the app and upload your Circle K receipt to generate a draw entry for your club. One draw entry is generated per receipt uploaded. The more entries a club gets, the higher their chances of winning. Receipts issued at all Circle K outlets until December 5th will be eligible to enter in the Circle K Grassroots Giveaway.
