Nenagh U2 tribute band Even Better Than The Real Thing will be playing songs from ‘The Joshua Tree’ among other albums on December 29, which is a fundraising gig for the A-Team.

Another blast from the past in Nenagh!

Following on from the hugely successful ‘Blast From the Past’ gig last July there will be another great night of music upstairs in The Well Bar, Nenagh, on Friday, December 29, as musicians from the pub gig scene of the '80s, '90s and noughties once again come together to see out 2023 with a bang.

Acts on the night include Even Better Than The Real Thing playing the sounds of U2. Expect to hear classics such as Pride, In the Name of Love, New Year's Day and Where the Streets Have No Name. Also performing on the night will be a band who had no choice but to call themselves The Gardaí as they are a tribute band playing classics by The Police. Expect to hear Message in a Bottle, Roxanne, So Lonely and Synchronicity too.

The Joyful Mysteries are back again too with songs from The Stunning, Nirvana, Weezer, Tom Petty, REM, Green Day and many others that have stood the test of time. We will also salute the passing of the late, great Shane MacGowan with a few Pogues songs during the night.

Local indie rock band Through the Reigns will also take to the stage to showcase songs from their debut EP due for release early next year. Through the Reigns, formed in 2019 by Trevor Whyte, Tristan O'Rourke and JP Ryan, will add something a little different to the night’s entertainment.

The ever popular band The Reset will kick things of on December 29, so get to The Well early for a feast of music. Admission is €5 with all proceeds going to support the A-Team Youth Club, a volunteer-run organisation of social groups and youth clubs for autistic children and young people aged 2-25 in the North Tipperary area.

ELECTRIC SESSION

If live music is your thing then the Well bar will also host for one night only (Thursday, December 28), the return of the Electric Session! This is a culmination event for the patrons of the Thursday night acoustic sessions running forthrightly since August.

Doors are at 8pm, entry is free. The night will be hosted by The Well House Band with special guests on the night (such as Nicole Bourke from 1710 and Matt Purcell, Australian artist). In addition, the Electric Session will feature an appearance from Feckin Raging (Rage Against the Machine tribute act) with more acts to be announced soon.

Full backline and all equipment will be provided and all local musicians are welcome to join us and celebrate the joy of live music together.
