New song from Bríd and her band

Local singer-songwriter Bríd Kenny and her band will release their latest song this Friday, February 2.

‘She Moves Through the Fair’ is an old Irish folk lament. When Bríd was gigging with her band - ‘Bríd Kenny and The Noise’ - in 2022 this was always the song that they opened with.

“This tune speaks to people within Ireland particularly,” Bríd said of the song. “It can be seen as a wedding song or as a distant and foreboding haunt of our ancestors…

“Being the cynical songwriter that I am, typically I resonate more with that second point. To me, this reflects the dark undercurrents that are present in the world around us at the moment.”

The song was mixed and mastered @Atlanticmastering by Tadhg Kelly and recorded in 2022 at Dry Lane Studios, Limerick, by Danny Lanham and Sean Murray.

Bríd grew up in Capparoe and Coolbawn, and now lives in Nenagh. She sings and playes guitar. Her band consists of Ella Partington (fiddle and vocals), Donnacha O’Dwyer (lead guitar and vocals), Tadhg Kelly (drums) and Lucas Lourenço (bass guitar).
