More World Rowing golds for McDonald

Moneygall’s Ken McDonald won 2 gold medals at the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Prague, Czechia.

He raced in the 2000m & 500m, dominating both races, coming close to breaking the world record by only .4 of a second in a time of 1 min 24.6 secs in the 500m. He also took both European titles in the 2km and 500m events. This latest successes follow on from winning three gold medals at the Masters World Rowing Championships in France in 2022 and two golds at the 2019 World Championships in Hungary.

Ken is a Garda Instructor in the Garda College in Templemore, and is a multiple world champion and world record holder.
