Successful QuidGames fundraiser for club

Boost for Kilruane MacDonaghs and charity

The Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh saw a crowd of over 400 people attend the Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA & Camogie Club exciting fundraising event, ‘QuidGames’, last Friday.

Forty-one contestants were battling it out on the night for the top prize of €10,000 which was split between the winner and their selected charity or team.

Inspired by the Netflix hit series Squid Games, ‘QuidGames’ was a truly unique event, which had not been held in County Tipperary previously.

Six rounds of games which tested the skill and nerves of the contestants saw players eliminated throughout each round leaving Will Rymer and Eoin Kennedy in the grand final vying for the top prize.

An exciting finale to the night saw Will Rymer come out as victor and his chosen charity, Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice benefited from this by a whopping €7,000.

Damian Lawlor from the Sunday Game on RTE and the MC for the event, Noel Coonan, kept the crowd entertained with interviews and quizzes in between the official game rounds.

Kilruane MacDonaghs Club Chairman Dave Carroll was one of the competitors whose fundraising efforts had got them a golden ticket into the competition.

“It was a great success as a fundraiser but even more importantly it was a community event which helped a lot of charities,” commented Dave.

“We were thrilled to have had such an entertaining night for everyone but we are especially proud to be passing over €12,000 to local teams and charities which meant a lot to the players and their supporters.”

The fundraiser was initiated to help fund Kilruane GAA & Camogie Club's plan for a new pitch and community walking track in Cloughjordan.
