Town Teams meet in Nenagh and Newport

The first meetings of the new Town Teams in Nenagh and Newport have taken place.

Sixteen members have agreed to participate on the Nenagh Town Team. A ‘Town Champion’ has been selected for the team as part of the Town Centre First plan, which aims to revitalise the town and make it more attractive for residents, businesses and visitors alike. The team is made up of a diverse range of stakeholders representing the business, retail, sporting, community, voluntary, youth and education sectors in the town.

“The Town Team are akin to the local experts, who have come together to make their area a better place to live, work, visit and invest, make a positive impact and deliver positive outcomes.”

Meanwhile, there are 15 members on the Newport Town Team, also representing a wide range of interests.

A total 70 submissions were received on the Newport Town Centre First Plan. Last month’s meeting of Nenagh Municipal District heard that these are in the course of review.
