Last Saturday’s parkrun in Borrisokane enjoyed a great turnout.

New faces at Borrisokane Town Parkrun

Once again the weather was not as bad as predicted and was dry for the start on Saturday. We had a lot of new faces this week, especially welcome was some visitors from St Anne’s in Roscrea, who thoroughly enjoyed their first parkrun. We were also joined again by Mary Murphy, from Portlaoise, who is becoming almost a regular now, on her fifth visit. Thank you again to everyone that came out; it is great to have our weekly parkrun, currently 2,649 individual runs have taken place, with 73 volunteers volunteering over 1,000 times. Parkrun truly is a global community movement and is not just about running. With an average finish time of 37 minutes, it is more than running. Why not come along, try it out and enjoy the sense of community and support. We always go for a social coffee afterwards, so feel free to join us any Saturday. Borrisokane Town park is a fantastic facility and real community feel.
