Grass-cutting in Nenagh district

A new grass-cutting contractor has been appointed in the Nenagh Municipal District.

Cllr Séamie Morris raised the issue of grass-cutting and clearance in housing estates at last month’s district meeting.

Cllr Ger Darcy said he was also asked to raise the issue. While he appreciated the prolonged period of wet weather, Cllr Darcy said there is a need to take advantage of dry weather; this year will see a lot more growth than before, he predicted. Grass needs to be properly cleared up after being cut, Cllr Darcy added.

Executive Engineer Paul Keane said the council has appointed a new grass-cutting contractor. He asked people to be patient, saying an improvement would be noticed in the coming weeks.
