Barracks bollards plan invalid

The Department of Defence’s application to erect metal bollards outside the former military barracks site in Nenagh has been invalidated by the local planning authority.

The department applied for planning permission for the erection of approximately 40 metal traffic bollards at the kerb side of the former barracks where it adjoins the public footpath, and either side of the entrance to property, delineating the property boundary and the right of way. The planned bollards were to be approximately one metre in height above the ground level and spaced approx 1.5m apart.

Tipperary Co Council received the application last month but has since marked it “incompleted”.
