A walk in the wild in Roscrea this Thursday

The last few months have been busy for the Roscrea Trail Blazers with all the Aran Islands walked to date and some more islands to complete.

Well done to club members Mary Murphy, Hugh O'Brien, Geraldine Fox and Andy Gleeson for completing the Galty Challenge on June 29 last under very testing conditions, 32km across the Galty Mountains.

Our walk last Thursday was the Glenbarrow/Mill Loop in the Slieve Blooms. Not the best night for walking with low cloud and a low temperature made for a cool night's walking.

Well done to everyone who made the effort.

Our Thursday night walk this week is on Thursday, July 4, with a walk up on the Silver River Loop at Cadamstown.

The distance is 8km, time: two hours, grade: Moderate.

Meeting at Cadamstown carpark at 7.30pm.
