Singles titles for O’Keeffe and Swinburne at successful Nenagh Tennis Open

The 2024 Bowe Dental Senior Open Tennis tournament at Nenagh Lawn Tennis Club was another very successful tournament in the last two weeks.

The tournament attracted with 397 players across in 29 graded events.

Nenagh’s own Frank O'Keeffe added another Grade 1 Singles title to his collection, also winning the doubles with Pat Stone. Cork woman Deirdre Swinburne won the ladies Grade 1 Singles title.

In addition to Frank O'Keeffe, five other players were dual winners of finals: Paula Kelly (Doubles with Patrice Cleary and mixed Dermot Sheils), Dermot Sheils (Mixed with Paula Kelly and Doubles with Chris Collins), Martin McMahon (Singles and Doubles with Shane Curtin), Gerhard Harmse (Singles and Doubles with Diarmaid Gleeson) and Niall Madden (Singles and Mixed with Catriona Gleeson).

George McGrath, President of Nenagh LTC, thanked Bowe Dental, including long standing club member, Michael Ryan, himself an accomplished player when he played, and who is part of the Bowe Dental service.

George also, in thanking the many who entered, paid generous compliments to Claire Ley and Willie Gleeson, joint Club Captains, and their extensive backroom team for a superbly run and enjoyable tournament for competitors and onlookers.
