Funding to tackle flooding

Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Kieran O’Donnell, has announced the approval of Tipperary County Council’s application for funding under the Office of Public Works’ Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme.

Under the scheme, the Office of Public Works has approved funding of €31,613 for proposed works at Greenane, Templederry, which include the removal of an existing boundary wall at the affected property, excavation of silt deposits under the bridge to increase the headroom, importation and compaction of 6-12” rock to restored river bed, placing of rock armour and creation of earth retaining bund and the placement of suitable fill material behind the rock armour.
