Barracks bollards invalidated again

Tipperary Co Council has invalidated another planning application by the Department of Defence to erect bollards at Nenagh’s military barracks site.

The department submitted a plan on June 27 for the erection of approximately 40 metal traffic bollards at (i) the kerb side of the former barracks where it adjoins the public footpath, and (ii) either side of the entrance to property delineating the property boundary and the right of way. The proposed bollards were to be approximately one metre in height above the ground level and spaced approx 1.5m apart.

The council marked the application “incompleted” on July 3. A similar application submitted by the department last May met with the same fate.
