Ardcroney to host Ballymackey in Motor Neuron Disease fundraiser

The annual Ann Gilmour Memorial Shield takes place this Sunday, 4th August in Ardcroney at 3.00pm

Jamie Gilmore is the current disciplinary officer of the NT&DL committee and has presented many honours to winning captains of teams in the NT&DL over the past two years.

Anyone that travels to watch local soccer games in the NT&DL will be familiar with Jamie as he is an ever-present spectator and supporter of all things local soccer; he is a true footballing man.

Jamie gave almost two decades of his life to football management, enjoying successful spells at Ardcroney FC, Nenagh Town AFC, Ballymackey FC, and the North Tipperary Kennedy Cup squad.

Jamie’s wife Ann Gilmore, passed away on April 25th, 2016 from Motor Neurone Disease. Ann fought a brave battle against the illness and was supported all the way by Jamie and her loving family.

The Ann Gilmour Memorial Shield takes place this Sunday, 4th August in Ardcroney at 3.00pm in association with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This will be the fourth annual Ann Gilmore Memorial Shield, with Ardcroney looking to make it three-in-a-row. All local football fans and stakeholders within the NT&DL are encouraged to come along for what should be a high scoring and highly entertaining game between these two youthful Premier Division sides.

There will be a barbeque and raffle in the Frolic Bar, Carney after the match, raffle tickets will be available on the day.
