Successful fete and dog show

Dunkerrin Church of Ireland held their Parish Fete and Fun Dog Show on Sunday, June 30, which was a great success. A sincere thank you to everyone both near and far who supported us on the day.

Our local playwright, Patrick Fogarty, opened the show and our judge was Mona Goode, Co Galway, ably assisted by Lorraine Malone, Co Tipperary.

To everyone who gave sponsorship, hampers, prizes on the day, it was very much appreciated. To Dunkerrin Community Centre Committee for the use of the hall and to those who erected tents etc and gave generosity of their time to make the day a success.

Congratulations to all the prizewinners on the day, both dogs and owners. The Champion of the Show went to Richard Fogarty, Templetuohy, Thurles, with his dog Loki who received the John Browne Perpetual Shield.

Reserve Champion was won by Tina Morrissey, Coolnamona, Cloughjordan, with her dog, Hero, who received the Ernie and Joyce Reid Perpetual Shield.

Also, congratulations to all raffle winners and a word of thanks to PJ Wright for being photographer on the day.

Without the support from everyone we could not continue the upkeep of our church.
