Darkness Into Light Walk in Nenagh raises almost €16,000

By Brendan Murphy

The Darkness Into Light Nenagh committee Chairperson Eavan Carmody Delaney was contacted by Pieta House this month with confirmation of the total money raised by this year's event organised by the local committee.

A total of €15,724.60 was raised by the Darkness Into Light event which took place in Nenagh on May 11 last.

Eavan said that she was “overwhelmed by the support the Darkness Into Light team received from the whole community which led to the success of this years event.”

The amazing amount of money raised will no doubt help many people through the services provided by Pieta house. The event could simply not take place only for the help, support and generosity of the people of Nenagh and surrounding areas.

Eavan said that she would like to thank everyone for their support in making this year's event a success. Eavan added: “The organising committee feel so proud to be a part of such a great community, particularly when you see so many people walking together in unity in the fight against suicide and self-harm.”

She thanked all those who supported the event.
