Browne selected to contest election in South Tipp

Tipperary Sinn Féin TD Martin Browne has been selected to contest the next General Election for Sinn Fein in Tipperary South.

Teachta Browne, who was selected at convention in Tipperary Town, said: “I am honoured and thrilled to be selected to contest the next General Election for Sinn Fein in Tipperary South.

“I have been proud to work for communities across Tipperary during my time on Cashel Town Council and Tipperary County Council, and since I was elected to Dail Eireann in 2020. It has been the honour of my life.

“I have worked tirelessly to fulfil the role and live up to the responsibilities that the Tipperary electorate trusted me with, and I will strive to continue to do all I can to represent the interests of this great county.

“Sinn Féin is all about community. Our record for community work is there for all to see and has been tried and tested. We are not a single-issue party – we are a party that has worked tirelessly for a fair, just, and equal Ireland that seeks to unite and oppose division.

“Locally, Tipperary Sinn Féin continues in that campaign through our work, our actions, and our dedication to the people who make Tipperary the great county that it is.

“We speak up for those who need a voice. We campaign for those who need to be represented. We develop common sense policies that are designed to work for the people – not for the selfish purposes of vested interests.

“In a time of challenging situations Sinn Féin remains committed to hard work and honest politics, that concentrates on uniting and resisting division.

“The current government must be held to account for its failures on housing, disability services, health, garda numbers, and community services.

“During my time in Dail Éireann I have relentlessly pursued the government on these matters and more - on a local and national basis. It is my intention to continue my work on behalf of all of the people of Tipperary.

“Alongside my elected Sinn Féin colleagues Cllr David Dunne and Cllr Annemarie Ryan, a strong party membership, and a talented and committed Parliamentary Party, I will continue to strive to bring about and deliver a fair, just and equal Ireland that has been needed for so long.”
