Meet artist Kerry Norton in Nenagh Library this month.

Kerry Norton exhibition in Nenagh Library

Nenagh Library will showcase the work of local artist, Kerry Norton, during the month of August.

Originally from the UK, her passion for art and design led her to spend time teaching in the Middle East before relocating to Tipperary three years ago. Setting up her studio, Silver Studio, in the foothills of the Silvermines, she quickly became known for her live wedding painting and illustrations.

An interdisciplinary artist, who graduated from Leeds College of Art and Durham University, life is busy these days for Kerry as she balances personalised commissions, community art projects and interior colour consultations. Creativity has always been a part of Kerry and so she combines elements of interior design and fine art through pastel colour palettes, florals, nature and the beautiful scenery that surrounds her studio.

Describing her art as a place of refuge, she says: “I believe creating is a therapeutic process that comes in many forms. I have always been interested in the connection between the creator and the observer. My paintings explore my personal narrative of memory and the nostalgia of the places I have lived.” Kerry’s current exhibition is an exploration of oil and acrylic with layers, texture and metallic elements, and will be on display in Nenagh Library for the month of August, with Kerry on site on Tuesday evening, August 20, at 6.30pm to meet people.

Don’t miss this chance to meet an inspiring and talented local artist.
