The Watch Centre Junior 'A' Hurling Championship: The semi-finals will take place this Friday, 16th August with both games throwing in at 6.45pm - Ballinahinch face Kiladangan in Toomevara whilst Roscrea play Toomevara in Moneygall.

The Watch Centre Junior 'B' Hurling Championship: Three games took place last weekend.

In Group 1, Knockshegowna had a 0-19 to 1-14 victory over Silvermines on Friday in Ballingarry. Knockshegowna finished the first half strongly and were 0-12 to 0-7 ahead at half time. Both teams went point for point in the second half before a Silvermines goal from Sean Spillane leaving the Mines trailing by two, but Knockshe held out for victory.

In Group 2, Kiladangan had a hard earned 2-16 to 1-14 win over Templederry Kenyons on Sunday in Puckane. With the aid of a strong breeze, Kiladangan held a 1-13 to 0-1 lead with Tom McLoughlin scoring the goal from a side-line with Paraic Kelly and Jack Minehan prominent scorers for Kiladangan. In what was a game of two halves, Templederry took over in the second half and had the deficit back to three points by the 50th minute with Timmy Crowe impressing up front. A well-taken Seanie Hackett goal was the all-important score as it extended Kiladangan’s lead, and they held out for a five point victory.

Toomevara had a 1-12 to 0-12 victory over Lorrha. Lorrha were ahead 0-7 to 0-4 at half time. Toome improved in the second half with David Conway getting the all-important goal.

The last round of group games will take place in the coming days. On Thursday 15th August, Newport host Burgess with a 7.30pm throw in for their Group 1 clash.

Four games take place on Saturday 17th August at 7.30pm. Group 1 sees a clash of Portroe v Silvermines in Portroe. All Group 2's games are scheduled to take place at this time - Toomevara host Kiladangan, Templederry Kenyons host Lorrha and Ballina host Moneygall.

The top teams in each group progress straight to the semi-finals whilst second and third progress to the quarter finals. Knockshegowna, Silvermines, Newport and Burgess are all in contention for the three knock out spots from Group 1. The winner of Ballina v Moneygall will progress straight to the semi-finals of Group 2 with the loser to the quarter finals. Toomevara, Lorrha and Kiladangan are vying out for the second quarter final spot.

Ger Gavin Under 19 ‘A’ Hurling Championship: The second round of the 'A' championship took place last Wednesday.

In Group 1, Silvermines had a 0-16 to 0-14 victory over Nenagh Eire Og in MacDonagh Park. Eire Og started strongly and had a four point lead with twenty minutes gone. The Mines began to find form and had the Eire Og lead reduced to one point by half time - 0-8 to 0-7. Silvermines pushed on and went four points up with fifteen minutes to go. Although missing key players to injury, Eire Og scored five points with no reply to level in the 55th minute. Silvermines went back into the lead with time nearly up whilst a late Eire Og volley effort went narrowly wide with the ‘Mines holding out for victory.

Toomevara had a comfortable 3-24 to 2-15 victory over Moneygall/Clonakenny. Toomevara were dominant throughout and held a 1-13 to 1-6 half time lead. Cody Quirke, Austin Duff and Darragh McCarthy with the goals for the greyhounds.

In Group 2, Ballina had a 1-14 to 1-11 victory over Roscrea with sides serving up an entertaining game which remained a keenly fought contest throughout.

Ballina had the benefit of a strong wind in the first half, and they took full advantage as they held a 1-10 to 1-5 lead at half time. Tadgh McKeogh scored the Ballina goal after two minutes, but Roscrea responded well with Corey Moloney raising a green flag. Ballina tagged on a number of scores just before half time for a five point lead.

With the aid of the wind, Roscrea started the second half well reducing the deficit to one after ten minutes. Ballina held out for victory with Luke McKeogh prominent up front for the Shannonsiders. Borris-Ileigh had a bye in Round 2.

Round 3 of the 'A' Championship takes place this Wednesday 14th August at 7.30pm.

In Group 1, Moneygall will be the venue for the clash of Moneygall/Clonakenny v Nenagh Eire Og whilst Toomevara host Dolla.

In Group 2, Roscrea host Borris-Ileigh whilst Ballina have a bye.

Ger Gavin Under 19 ‘B’ Hurling Championship: commenced last Wednesday.

Borrisokane had a 4-18 to 1-10 victory at home to Portroe whilst Burgess were in goal-scoring form as they defeated Ballinahinch/Templederry 7-14 to 1-10. Three goals separated the teams at half time 4-7 to 1-7 with Burgess in the lead and an uphill battle for Ballinahinch-Templederry against the wind in the second half.

In Group 2, Kilruane MacDonaghs had a 3-18 to 1-13 victory away to Newport. Kilruane held a 2-7 to 1-6 half time lead - the game was evenly balance until the final ten minutes when Kilruane’s third goal put daylight between the sides. Jack Mulcahy, Brian O'Meara, and Michael Cleary were the Kilruane goal scorers.

Lorrha Rovers and Kiladangan played out a 1-17 each draw in Lorrha. Kiladangan held a 0-8 to 0-3 lead after the first quarter (with Jos Slattery and Ciaran Taplin impressing for Kiladangan) but Lorrha had the better of the second quarter and had Kiladangan’s lead reduced down to one point at half time – 0-10 to 0-9. The sides traded goals (Dara O’Dwyer the Kiladangan goal scorer whilst Conor Kennedy score the Lorrha goal) within the first two minutes of the second half and the game was tit for tat thereafter, with Lorrha scoring two pointed frees in the last three minutes to secure a draw with Conor Kennedy star of the match with a 1-12 tally (7 frees).

Round 2 of the 'B' Championship takes place this Wednesday 14th August at 7.30pm.

In Group 1, Portroe host Ballinahinch/Templederry whilst Burgess host Borrisokane. In Group 2, Kiladangan host Newport whilst Kilruane MacDonaghs host Lorrha Rovers.

Minor 'A' Hurling: The Preliminary quarter finals took place on Monday where Silvermines defeated Burgess 3-12 to 3-10 in Puckane whilst Kiladangan had a 7-15 to 2-12 victory over Ballina in Dolla.

The quarter finals take place on Monday 19th August at 6.45 pm - Toomevara face Newport in Ballina, Borris-Ileigh face Moneygall in Toomevara, Kilruane MacDonaghs face Kiladangan in Nenagh and Nenagh Eire Og face Silvermines in Cloughjordan.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Monday 26th August.

Minor 'B' Hurling: The semi-finals are scheduled for Monday 26th August at 6.45pm - Lorrha Rovers face Portroe in Borrisokane whilst Roscrea face Borrisokane in Lorrha.

Under 15 'A' Hurling: Two playoff games took place last Thursday. Newport defeated Roscrea 1-18 to 2-11 whilst Kilruane MacDonaghs defeated Nenagh Eire Og 2-20 to 1-14. Both Newport and Kilruane MacDonaghs now progress to the semi-finals which are scheduled for Thursday 29th August.

The quarter finals will take place this Thursday 15th August at 7.00pm - Lorrha Rovers will face Roscrea in Puckane whilst Kiladangan will face Nenagh Eire Og in Ballinderry.

Under 15 'B' Hurling: The Preliminary quarter final took place last Thursday when Moneygall had a 4-14 to 2-8 victory over Borrisokane in Cloughjordan.

The quarter finals take place on Thursday 15th August at 6.45pm - the winners of Moneygall face Ballina in Toomevara, Ballinahinch/Templederry face Toomevara in Borrisoleigh, Silvermines face Borris-Ileigh in Kilcolman whilst Portroe face Burgess in Dolla.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday 29th August.

Under 13 'A' Hurling: The quarter finals took place on Tuesday 13th August with wins for Roscrea over Ballina, Toomevara over Kilruane MacDonaghs, Moneygall over Newport and Nenagh Eire Og over Silvermines.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday 20th August at 6.45pm.

Under 13 'B' Hurling: The single quarter final took place Tuesday 13th August when Ballinahinch/Templederry beat Borris-Ileigh.

The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday 20th August at 6.45pm - Burgess face Lorrha Rovers in Borrisokane whilst Kiladangan face Ballinahinch/Templederry in Kilcolman.

Under 13 'C' Hurling: The first quarter final took place on Monday when Portroe defeated Ballina 1-8 to 1-6 whilst the second quarter final took place on Tuesday 13th August when Borrisokane beat Nenagh Eire Og.

The semi-finals take place on Tuesday 20th August - Kilruane MacDonaghs face Borrisokane whilst Newport face Portroe.

Under 13 'D' Hurling: The Preliminary quarter final took place on Tuesday 6th August when Kiladangan had a 4-3 to 1-4 victory Borris-Ileigh in Puckane.

The quarter finals will take place on Wednesday 14th August - Roscrea will host Kiladangan at 6.30pm, Burgess host Silvermines in Kilcolman at 6.45pm, Nenagh Eire Og host Toomevara at 6.45pm and Newport host Kilruane MacDonaghs at 7.00pm.
