FBD Insurance County Championships

Round 2 of the County Hurling Championships took place last weekend and provided great entertainment across all three grades.

The attention next weekend will turn to round 2 of the County Football Championships, with fourteen games down for decision across the Senior, Intermediate & Premier Junior championships.

Patrons are reminded that tickets priced at Adults - €12, OAP - €8 and Student - €6 are now available on the ticket section of the Tipperary GAA website. There is also the option of purchasing a weekend ticket which will give the purchaser entry in to all games across the weekend. Tap and Go will also be in operation at all venues.

Tipperary Clubs Draw

The August monthly draw is almost upon us and with that in mind we are reminding you that this year supporters can continue to join and only pay for the remaining draws available to them. So, for example if someone joins ahead of the second monthly draw next week, they will pay €90 either upfront or €10 per month for the next nine months and so on.

This month’s Tipperary Clubs Draw takes place on Wednesday, August 21st when the top prize will be €20,000. You can still join the draw and support both Tipp GAA & your nominated club, who will receive up to 70% of your subscription. Simply go to the ‘Clubs Draw’ section on the Tipperary GAA website or click the link on one of our social media posts to join. Alternatively, you can contact your local club who will be delighted to help you.

Fiserv Fittest Four Charity Event

Fiserv, Tipperary GAA’s main sponsor for the past three years, has been one of our more proactive sponsors, doing half time shows at league games, handing out merchandise and facepainting before games and have raised over €60,000 for charities over the last two years.

This year’s event is on Saturday 7th September running from 9am to 9pm, with the “Fiserv Fittest Four Challenge” in aid of Cliona’s Foundation & the Cari Foundation which will take place in FBD Semple Stadium in conjunction with the Under 9 Blitz.

Fiserv are hoping for a minimum of one team (must contain at least 1 male and 1 female) from each community in Tipperary. Teams can be from businesses, rugby, soccer, other clubs in your area, or just four people who come together to compete for the title.

The raffle prizes are amazing which include two GAA All Star tickets with overnight accommodation, All Ireland Final tickets, Hotel Breaks, Signed Jerseys, to name but a few. Also, the winning association/group will get a full set of jerseys whilst the winning team get 4 tickets to all Tipperary League games in 2025 plus a Corporate Table for 4 at Punchestown Festival 2025 with overnight accommodation.

They can book their start time by going to the fundraising tab on the Tipperary GAA website and clicking on 7th September in the Calander. If you have any questions email Brian.Fogarty@Fiserv.com or call/text him on 087-8113012.

Camogie

Congratulations to the Tipperary Junior players and management who enjoyed a thrilling win over Laois in last Sundays Premier Junior All Ireland final at Croke Park.

The players displayed a real never-say-die attitude that got them over the line in the end. There is no doubt that this win will serve to further improve the profile of Camogie in Tipperary which has been enjoying very good success in recent years.

Gaelic Games Player Welfare Conference

This year’s Gaelic Games Player Welfare Conference will take place on Saturday, August 31st at the TUS Athlone Campus.

The thematic focus of the event will centre around 'Optimising ACL Rehabilitation & Return to Play in Gaelic Games'.

The morning programme will focus on the physiology of ACL injury, while the afternoon slot will explore the ACL environment across areas such as Psychology, Nutrition and Gender.

The event is free of charge and will feature keynotes from industry experts across a range of specialties related to the field. The target audience for the conference includes Medical and Sports Science Practitioners working in Gaelic Games.

In addition, an educational opportunity has opened for applicants (primarily from a non-medically trained background) in the concussion space. UCD are running a micro-credential course entitled; “Concussion: An Overview for Amateur Sports”.

The course is run completely online and several medical experts who are involved in Gaelic Games have had an input into the course content. The course is designed for those involved in amateur sports who want to learn more about concussion, the warning signs to look out for and how to help a player in the post-concussion phase.

Places are limited so book in time to avoid disappointment. Full details are available on the official GAA website.
