Great support for community celebration

Autism Awareness Roscrea organise event

Autism Awareness Roscrea held its annual Sensory Fun Day on Sunday last. This popular event is open to all.

On the day we had everything from snakes, owls and other small mammals to relaxation therapy, fun zones with lots of sensory play, Lego zones, board games, inflatable games, face painting, basketball and the all-important Chill Out and Quiet zones.

There was a great attendance from around Roscrea and further afield!

We are grateful to all who made the day possible, from all our volunteers, suppliers who attended on the day and the wonderful Joan, who was on hand for those in need of tea or coffee!

Our thanks as well to residents of New Line for their support and to Sacred Heart School Roscrea for allowing us use of their facilities. Special thanks to Sean Robinson, caretaker of the Sacred Heart School, for his assistance on the day and in advance of the event.

Thanks to all those who supported our raffle and gave so generously on the day. Thanks to Roscrea Leisure Centre and Bank of Ireland for the prizes which they donated. Congratulations to our prize winners.

These days are made possible by the support of Creative Ireland and Tipperary County Council, who provide financial support for such events.

These days are only possible too with our many volunteers who make themselves available on the day, as well as those who work away in the background all year round. We are very grateful for all of them for their dedication and commitment.
