Your smile with our braces

Having recently opened a new state-of-the-art premises in Birr, Bowe Orthodontic Care is proving an increasingly popular choice for patients from north Tipperary.

The centre is run by Dr John Bowe, BA, B DENT, SC (TCD); MFD, RCSI; D CLIN DENT (Orthodontics), UCC; M, ORTH, RCSED; DIP, CON SED (King’s); B ED, a registered dentist and dental specialist in Orthodontics with the Dental Council of Ireland.

Dr Bowe and his team have over 10 years of experience of achieving the optimum smile for their patients, who visit the Birr clinic from a wide catchment area, including Nenagh, Roscrea, Borrisokane and many other parts of north Tipperary. A great many local patients have benefited from John’s meticulous attention to detail and his conscientious approach to his work, which is

carried out to the highest of standards.

‘BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE’

“In Bowe Orthodontic Care,” said Dr Bowe, “there are different types of braces, and we have the experience to know what will work best for you and your lifestyle. Following an initial consultation, we develop a bespoke treatment plan tailored to each patient’s individual needs and wishes.”

Dr Bowe’s journey to qualifying as an orthodontic specialist began when he studied Dentistry in Trinity College Dublin. Thereafter, he completed his doctorate in Orthodontics in University College Cork.

Orthodontics is like a vocation for Dr Bowe, and he brings much knowledge and energy to his job.

“There is a tremendous professional satisfaction in improving the smiles of our patients,” he said. “When we achieve great results and patients attain their desired outcome, there is a real sense of pride that we have been able to make a difference and that, in many cases, we have also been able to contribute to an increase in patients’ self-confidence too.”

Bowe Orthodontic Care boasts the very best in orthodontic equipment, including an intra-oral scanner. Traditionally, impressions or ‘moulds’ were made of patients’ mouths to fabricate appliances, etc.

“With the intra-oral scanner,” explained Dr Bowe, “we take a 3D image of the mouth, and this image is sent to the lab. The lab then makes the patient’s appliance and sends it back to the practice ready to fit. Intra-oral scanning reduces the need for the traditional impressions.”

Another excellent piece of dental imaging equipment at Bowe Orthodontic Care is a CBCT x-ray machine, which provides high quality images of the patients' teeth using ultra-low doses of radiation.

Early orthodontic care is important, and Dr Bowe recommends that children have their first evaluation around the age of 8. By evaluating your child's teeth at a young age, a specialist orthodontist can identify problems such as misaligned bites, overcrowded teeth, and jaw growth discrepancies. Early detection allows for timely intervention, which can simplify and shorten the treatment process.

Treatments like expanders can guide the growth of the jaw to ensure that there is enough space for permanent teeth to come in correctly. This can prevent the need for more invasive procedures later.

CONVENIENCE OF CARE

Convenience is another reason why so many people from north Tipp have been choosing to make the short spin over to Bowe Orthodontic Care.

Dr Bowe and his team can see you after school for routine appointments. Early morning and Saturday appointments can also be scheduled. Unlike many other orthodontic practices, you can begin your treatment soon after your initial consultation.

There is free car parking, on site.

What’s more, to help spread the cost of your braces and make your treatment affordable, Bowe Orthodontic Care offers interest-free payment plans.
