New members welcome as Nenagh Toastmasters get ready to kick off new season

Nenagh Toastmasters belong to this world-wide organisation where members practice public speaking.

Anyone called upon to make a speech (a best man at a wedding, addressing a board meeting or public speaking of any kind), will benefit from this opportunity to hone their skills. When members feel ready, they can volunteer to make a speech of five to seven minutes long, on a topic of their choice.

But Toastmasters is so much more than a forum for speech-making. At half time, we break for a chat over tea or coffee with other members. After the break the Topics master calls on individual members to speak spontaneously for two minutes on a given topic. Others are free to add their own observations on that theme. This is always a lively and popular feature. All have a chance to contribute.

Our ages range from 18 to octogenarians and everything in between. One is guaranteed to enjoy conversation and laughter. Why not attend a meeting as an observer and see if this fits your idea of an entertaining evening?

We meet every other Tuesday from 8 - 10pm at the Abbey Court Hotel.

The new season starts on Tuesday, September 3.
