How you can avoid online scams? Find out at upcoming meeting in Ballinderry

Staying safe online is becoming more of a challenge almost on a daily basis with so many increasingly fake and devious tactics being employed by online scammers.

With this in mind, Ballinderry Digial Hub will host an awareness evening on Tuesday, Sepember 17, where cyber security expert Liam Lynch will host an information session on the steps we can take to avoid falling victim to the myriad of scams currently in existence.

In this easy-to-follow, plain English workshop, you will learn what tactics and techniques cyber criminals use to try to compromise you. Examples of different scams will be shown and explained, for example: dodgy WhatsApp messages, messages from “Banks”, “An Post” customs charge, plus many more. You will also learn what simple and free measures you can take to help protect yourself and your online accounts from various cyber threats.
