Fun day and wellness event

There is a welcome return to the Glen 5k fun run, family day and wellness event being held in the back-drop of the beautiful Glen of Aherlow, Tipperary. This annual event will be held on Sunday, September 15, at 12 noon starting in Lisvernane Village. This fun run will be followed by an enjoyable afternoon back in Lisvernane Village with a number of events to keep everyone entertained.

5k races are a great place to challenge yourself if you are a runner or a great place to start if you have been thinking about it for a while- a step in the right direction. Alternatively, it’s an opportunity to get the kids out and about and enjoy the stunning beauty of the Glen.

If you want to stick around, there will be fun games and races for the kids, tasters for your favourite wellness experiences like chair yoga and meditation workshops, music and lots of prizes to be won! There will even be food available so you don’t have to rush home for dinner!!

The Glen 5k is a fundraising event in aid of Aherlow Kilross Community Council and Aherlow Fáilte, and this year we will be donating to the Dillon Quirke Foundation to support the amazing work they are doing in our communities every day. This amazing foundation recently visited us here in Lisvernane and we just want to say thank you to them for all they do.

So, get your running or walking shoes on and come and enjoy the beautiful scenery here in the Glen, relax for the afternoon and support some very worthy local causes.
