Mungret Regional 2-1 Nenagh AFC

After their promising start to the season, Nenagh AFC have floundered somewhat over the last ten days with just one win and a draw from four games.

Their latest setback came against League leaders Mungret who took the spoils on a 2-1 scoreline on Thursday with Danny McCarthy and Mark Patterson scoring for the winners while Cillian Scully was on the mark for the Tipperary side.

Newport Town 1-2 Hyde Rangers

Newport Town’s tale of woe in the League continued on Thursday when they squandered an early lead to go down 2-1 at home to Hyde Rangers.

Cillian O'Shea scored from Brian O’Sullivan’s corner kick, but Ben Kennedy restored parity and a Conor Madden penalty kick saw Hyde take the spoils.

Croom United 1-6 Newport Town

Newport Town finally recorded their first win of the season at Croom United in the first round of the FAI Junior Cup on Sunday.

A first minute goal from Croom’s Conor Laffan failed to halt the Tipperary side who ran in goals from Brian O'Sullivan (2), Christy Doyle; Conor Brett, Jamie Kavanagh and Darren Collins save Newport through.

Holycross 0-6 Nenagh AFC

Nenagh AFC got back to winning ways with a very impressive win away to a strong Holycross side. Nenagh were in total control all through and led 5-0 at the break.

Goals scorers were Dylan Morrison (2), Cillian Scully, Eoin Coffey, Fionn Higgins and Dan O'Meara.

Summerville Rovers 0-1 Lough Derg

Lough Derg made it wins all around for the three Tipperary sides in the FAI Junior Cup with a big surprise beating Premier A side Summerville Rovers on Sunday.

The Division 2B side scored the winner on 29 minutes from a Cian O'Donohue corner. Jay Collins knocked it on for Charlie Grace to net from a low drive. Some solid second half defending sealed a memorable win.

Lower Leagues

In Division 3A, both Newport Town ‘C’ and Nenagh AFC ‘C’ were six shooters in their respective games.

Sean Reddington (2), Wayne Collin (2), Dan Egan and Evan Geraghty were on the mark for Newport in a 6-1 win at Patrickswell ‘B’ while Nenagh came out tops by the odd score in an eleven-goal thriller at Newtown Rangers. Cian Galvin (2), Jack Hasset, Emanuel Musina, Sam Rosney and Daniel Connelly scored for Nenagh. ᐧ
