Vintage car drive to start in Terryglass and finish in Borrisokane

On Sunday, September 29, vintage car owners from Nenagh and surrounds will take part in ‘The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive’, which is being hosted by our very own Samuel McKeever from the Nenagh Classic Car Club.

Samuel successfully hosted the event last year, which raised €4,000. The gentleman’s drive is an event which takes place in various locations all over the world. The aim of the event is to raise awareness and funds to help with research for men’s mental health and men’s prostate cancer through the charity Movember.

So far, a total of eight drivers have registered to take part in the run that covers 61Km in total.

Samuel McKeever, Brendan Murphy, David McCarthy, Dermott Dunne, Ciaran Maguire, Joe Gibbs, Theo Moynihan and Noel O’Keeffe have all signed up to take part in aid of a very worthy cause. The drive starts at 2pm on Sunday, September 29, the cars departing from the starting point at Terryglass. The route will take them through Rathcabbin, to Crinkle, onwards to Shinrone, through Cloughjordan and will finish in Borrisokane at approximately 4.30pm.

To take part in the drive, vehicles need to be a minimum of 40-years-old and participants need to register on the Distinguished Gentleman’s drive website:

Drivers taking part in the event are encouraged to dress in gentleman-like attire. So, you can expect to see some rather dapper looking drivers behind the wheel of each of these vintage cars on September 29.

If you wish to support this event you can come and see the cars at Terryglass from 1pm-2pm or at the Green Bar in Borrisokane after 4.30pm on the day of the event.

If you wish to donate to the drive, you can do so online via the above website or by contacting any of the above drivers to receive a link-to-donate.
