Annual UHL Remembrance Service

University Hospital Limerick (UHL) hosts its annual remembrance service for the loved ones of patients who have recently passed away under the care of its staff.

The multidenominational service takes place at St Nessan's Church, Church Road, Raheen, Limerick, this Sunday, October 13, at 3pm.

Anyone with a beloved family member or friend who passed away at the hospital between August 2023 and August 2024 is invited to join with hospital staff in this service. Individuals of all faiths and none are welcome to attend.

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed on the Mungret-Crecora-Raheen parish website at https://www.mcrparish.com/

End-Of-Life Care Coordinator in UHL, Rebecca Lloyd said: “Our annual service is profoundly significant for hospital staff and we encourage anyone who has had a loved one die in UHL since August 2023 to unite with us as a community in shared grief.”

For anyone who has been bereaved, the HSE also runs a bereavement support line in partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation. This national freephone service, which provides bereaved people with connection, comfort and support, is available at 1800-807077 from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
