Moneygall manager Seamus Hogan was delighted with his sides victory as they became 2024 Tipperary Intermediate Camogie champions and made up for the heartache of losing last year’s final.

“Absolutely delighted,” he said thronged by black and red supporters.

“We knew coming here we were going to be in for a tough game against a Moycarkey side who are one of the best improving sides in the county at the moment.

“It’s the work-rate of our team and our backs in particular, and the distribution of the ball into the forwards that kept us in it. They have all worked very hard, and what they have put in through the year in training and everything else had paid off today and I am so proud of them

all.

“We wanted this after last year, we really did and we got back two great players from last year in Julie Kelly and Mairead Teehan, and you could see their input on the game today. We weren’t going out of here today without a strong battle”.

Hogan admitted to being nervous in the final few intense minutes when the game was firmly in the balance.

“Oh, the last few minutes, I don’t have much hair on my head, but what I do have was nearly pulled out there,” he laughed.

“But we never gave up and we stayed fighting and fighting, and never gave up once so happy with that.”

On going senior next year, Hogan admits the team are looking forward to the challenge.

“It will be a big ask, but were looking forward to it,” he said.

“We don’t like talking about the future, we take it one match at a time, but we did speak about it, and we are looking forward getting up there and taking on the challenge”. Hogan is also looking forward to the next challenge his side face in the Munster championship, but not till after they enjoy the celebrations first.

“We will definitely celebrate this first, take a break from training for a week and then we will get back at it again. I think were at home in Munster as far as I know, but it is a test were looking forward to no doubt”.
