Councillors have approved a traffic calming scheme and new paving scheme for the village of Carrigahorig, situated between Borrisokane and Portumna.

A plan for a new traffic calming and paving scheme for the village of Carrigahorig was endorsed by councillors at the October meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District.

The works will include provision for Local Link bus stops, new footpaths and the upgrade of existing footpaths.

New public lighting, traffic calming at the junction of the N65-Terryglass Road will be provided - subject to the project receiving funding from the national roads authority, Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

A pond is being created in the park in the village to act as both part of a water treatment facility and as a community feature.

New public lighting is also planned for the village.
