Under 21 'A' Hurling Championship: In Group 1, Toomevara and Borris-Ileigh played out an exciting game last Sunday in Toomevara with Borris-Ileigh winning 1-15 to 0-17.
In what was a close game throughout, the sides were level 0-8 each at half time. A Darragh Chute goal in the 40th minute gave Borris a two point lead but Toome had the sides level again by the 44th minute. The sides traded points for the remainder of the game - a Paddy McCormack pointed free in the 58th minute gave Borris the lead with Toome unable to muster up a leveller. This result means that Borris-Ileigh will progress, along with Ballina, from Group 2.
In Group 2, Nenagh Eire Og had a very impressive 4-17 to 1-13 over Silvermines last Sunday. Eire Og led 3-11 to 1-7 at half time with Tauri Shayanewako, Sam O'Farrell and Billy O'Brien the goal scorers for the victors. O'Brien scored Eire Og's fourth goal five minutes into the second half as the town side held out for a comfortable victory, thus securing top spot in the group and a home semi-final. Sam O'Farrell was prominent for Eire Og, finishing with a tally of 1-12 (0-7 frees).
The second game in the group didn't go ahead as Roscrea conceded the game to Kiladangan.
The semi-finals will take place this Sunday, 10th November at 12 noon - Ballina will host Silvermines whilst Nenagh Eire Og will host Borris-Ileigh.
Under 21 'B' Hurling Championship: In Group 1, Newport had an impressive 0-21 to 0-11 victory over Borrisokane whilst Moneygall/Clonakenny had an equally as impressive 3-17 to 1-11 victory over Ballinahinch/Templederry.
In Group 2, Kilruane MacDonaghs maintained their 100% record in the championship after a 1-20 to 0-17 victory over Portroe last Sunday. Kilruane put in an impressive second half performance after trailing 0-8 to 0-9 at half time.
Burgess will join Kilruane in the knockout stages after they defeated Lorrha Rovers 3-16 to 2-11 in Kilcoleman. They didn't have it all their own way however, with the combo leading 1-5 to 0-7 at half time with a superb Conor Kennedy goal right on half time giving the visitors the edge despite being down to fourteen men. Despite falling three points behind, Burgess responded well in the second half and claimed victory with the help of goals from Joe O'Dwyer, Kieran Grace and Mikey Ryan.
The semi-finals will take place this Sunday, 10th November at 12 noon – Moneygall/Clonakenny host Burgess in Moneygall whilst Kilruane MacDonaghs host Burgess in Cloughjordan.
