Celebrating our young people's achievements

On Thursday, November 21, two young people from County Tipperary will receive their Gaisce Gold Medal at the 2024 Gaisce Gold Award ceremony, hosted by President Michael D Higgins. The Gaisce Gold Awards celebrate the tremendous societal contribution made by these young people through the achievement of their award and is a recognition of their perseverance and commitment to personal development. This year’s awardees hail from 17 counties across Ireland, and have mastered a wide range of skills, activities and projects to earn their award, from learning Irish Sign Language and Chinese, to hiking some of Ireland’s most challenging peaks, volunteering in their communities, and developing their leadership skills. Several of the awardees have also overcome a number of personal challenges in the achievement of their award.

Awardees will hear from President Higgins and keynote speaker Miriam Keegan (sustainable fashion designer and Gaisce Gold Awardee) in what promises to be a fantastic celebration of youth achievement.
