Cruciate victim McGrath to miss 2025 season

The Tipperary senior camogie team will have to plan without star forward Eimear McGrath for the 2025 season after she sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Tipperary Camogie confirmed that she had successfully undergone surgery on an injury sustained with her club Drom & Inch in the county senior championship quarter final defeat to Shannon Rovers in October.
“Eimear is a huge loss for club and county, and we can't wait to see her back firing over goals and points again,” said Tipperary Camogie in a statement.
It is a double-blow for Tipperary as McGrath was not only the teams top-scorer in the 2024 championship with 4-37 from five championship games, she was also the teams dead-ball striker with her efficiency much improved on previous years with 1-32 of that total coming from placed-balls.
For manager Denis Kelly, it is a considerable player to replace, but they have one in Cait Devane if she commits for the full 2025 season having opted off for the successful National League campaign earlier this year before returning for the championship.
It might also hasten the move of All-Star Karen Kennedy to the attack on a more permanent basis.
