Christmas dinners for people in need
This Christmas, the Nenagh Community Christmas Day Dinner Group is delighted to announce the continuation of its cherished “meals on wheels” service, providing free holiday dinners to those in need.
Volunteers will deliver delicious meals, complete with all the festive trimmings, on Christmas Eve, and each recipient will also receive a special gift.
Now in its seventh year, this initiative has grown significantly, with an anticipated delivery of approximately 300 dinners this season.
This year marks an exciting collaboration with the North Tipperary Development Committee - National Meals on Wheels Network.
Meals will be prepared and distributed from their kitchen facilities in Borrisoleigh, thanks to the generous support of coordinator and chef Fionnuala O’Brien, who is dedicating her time to this worthy cause.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the management, staff, and chef Declan Bourke of the Hibernian Bar & Restaurant in Nenagh for their invaluable contribution, allowing the use of their kitchen and restaurant for meal preparation and distribution over the last number of years. Without their support, this service would not have been possible.
Sandra Farrell, a representative of the group, invites the community to contribute by donating small Christmas gifts to accompany the meals.
Gifts can be dropped off at The Zip Yard on Pearse Street, Nenagh, or the Hibernian Bar & Restaurant. Donors are kindly asked to wrap and label gifts for either male or female recipients.
This “meals on wheels” service is available to all residents within the North Tipperary catchment area.
Those interested in receiving a free meal are encouraged to contact Sandra by calling or texting 087 6989401 or by emailing farrellsandie@gmail.com.
Join us in spreading holiday cheer and ensuring everyone enjoys a warm meal this Christmas.
