Wheelie Winter Wonderland, winner of the exhibit by an individual category; the entry also won the children's vote.

A wonderful Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival

Our Nenagh Christmas Tree Festival is over for 2024.

Yet again we stand astounded by the talents and creativity in our greater Nenagh community. The Church of Ireland St Mary’s had 58 exhibits and the whole place was stunning, as we were told again and again by visitors as they were leaving.

They voted for the winners, who received certificates, but the choices must have been difficult. Winner of the exhibit by an individual was No 34, Wheelie Winter Wonderland by the Nevin family, which also won the children's vote (new section this year).

Best by a group was 24, St Brigid’s Cloak by the Ballycommon Crafters. This has been shown before as she was assembled in Ballycommon but here she is in the pulpit in all her glory.

Best retail went to 58, The Tweed Tree for Hanly Ballyartella Mills (created by Gerardine Wisdom). Most loved by adults was 42, It’s a Long Way to Tipperary; A Story of Love, Loss and Loyalty by Sylvia Crawford. This was the subject of another article for the Guardian but tells the story of a family’s strength and the love of a dog.

Once again, we thank you for your support and hope to see you next time.
