Water supply returning to normal in Tipp

Water supply is returning to normal for Uisce Éireann customers supplied by the Galtee Regional Scheme in Tipperary after repairs were successfully carried out to a burst water main in the area.

The burst water main had caused some supply disruptions for Uisce Éireann customers in Shrough Cross, Mt. Bruis, Kilross, Ballywire, Emly, Duncummin, Knocking Road, Glenbane, Roseboro, Galbally Road, Limerick Junction, Barronstown, Cullen and surrounding areas.

However, Uisce Éireann crews were able to locate the source of the burst and successfully carry out repairs to the affected area.

The works are now complete and supply is returning to all affected areas. Some customers at the end of the scheme and particularly at higher elevations may not regain their normal supply until late Friday evening/Saturday morning.

As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term. This can usually be cleared by running the tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear. For tips on what to do following an outage, visit our Issues during or after an outage page.
