Festive spirit shines at Newport nursing home
Festive spirit, with decorations that sparkled and seasonal hospitality in abundance, set the scene for the Christmas party at Millbrae Lodge Nursing Home, Newport.
Santa Claus himself was one of the first to arrive for the celebration to be greeted by a friendly welcome from the Director of Nursing, Kate O'Brien, who had a feast of hospitality and entertainment laid on for the residents.
The Santa Grotto was a colourful array of variety in food and refreshments to which the residents were treated over the afternoon as served by the courteous staff to one and all present which they enjoyed.
Santa Claus mingled among the residents and posed for some family pictures as he moved around the room to the background of a great selection of social music by talented musician and composer, Pete Creighton of showband fame over the decades and everyone delighted to see Pete in such good form.
Young step dancers from Newport and Murroe tipped lightly on their toes to entertain the residents and it all added up to a pleasant, entertaining and very sociable afternoon for everyone and a great festive atmosphere which was thoroughly enjoyed.
