Garda warning over burglaries

Gardaí are advising home and business owners to remain vigilant following several burglaries and attempted break-ins in recent days.

Two incidents were reported in Mulcaire Manor, Newport, in the early hours of Friday week last. Two youths were observed acting suspiciously in the estate and they reportedly attempted to gain access to two properties. A number of items were stolen in a burglary at Bantis, Cloughjordan, last Saturday week afternoon. A further break-in was reported on the same day at Knockearl, Cloughjordan. Gardaí are also investigating the theft of a vehicle at Modreeny, Cloughjordan, last Monday week.

Meanwhile, members of the Divisional Drugs Unit seized suspected cocaine valued at over €2,000 when they stopped a vehicle in Roscrea last Wednesday week. Two individuals were arrested and have been charged with drugs offences.
