Beginning in January, on the last Friday of each month at 8pm thereafter, are a series of talks on aspects of Borrisokane’s history.

We kick off with ‘A sit down walk about Borrisokane, up and down the street from early 19th century’. This is a talk by local historian Eamon Slevin on Friday, January 31, at 8pm in Borrisokane Community Centre on the Birr Road, next to Clarke Hall.

Our second talk will be by Lisa Mc Geeney on ‘Women in 19th century in Borrisokane Workhouse’ on Friday, February 28, at 8pm.
