Planning extension granted for 32 dwellings in Nenagh

Tipperary Co Council has granted an extension of duration of planning permission for 32 dwellings off Nenagh's Dublin Road.

Bin An Fheadain Limited has planning for the construction of 16 semi-detached, three-bedroom, two-storey houses; eight three-bedroom, two-storey terraced houses, and eight two-bedroom apartments over four storeys on a site between Homesavers and the Abbey Court Hotel. New entrance gates and access road to existing holiday homes are included in the plan.

Corresponding with the council, the applicant's agent cited Covid-19 restrictions, followed by difficulty securing contractors and construction material, among the delays with completing the development by the end of January 2025 as anticipated. An extension of duration of one additional year was sought to deliver the 32 dwellings, which "are much-needed new residential units in the current housing crisis".

The council granted the application.
