Camino Walk in loving memory of Liam
Mary B Reddan, accompanied by her daughter Kathy-Ann and son Michael, recently visited Suaimhneas, Nenagh’s cancer support centre, to present the proceeds of a fundraising event organised by them in memory of a much-loved husband and father, Liam, who sadly passed away four years ago. The family had been planning to walk the Camino before Liam’s illness and decided to honour his memory by undertaking the challenge last autumn. They also decided to use their walk to raise some funds for North Tipperary Hospice and for Suaimhneas in particular.
PRESENTATION EVENT
The result of their efforts was in evidence at the presentation event where they handed over the magnificent sum of €10,000 to hospice representatives Pat Delaney and Paddy Heffernan. Speaking on behalf of her family, Mary B said she would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who supported their Camino walk in memory of Liam Reddan.
The €10,000 figure raised exceeded their wildest dreams and they were extremely grateful to all those who contributed so generously. Her family, she said, were thrilled to have raised such a substantial amount for the wonderful organisation that is the hospice, which has been providing wonderful support to individuals and families for over 40 years.
Speaking on behalf of the Hospice, Nenagh Branch, Paddy Heffernan thanked Mary B, Kathy-Ann and Michael and everyone that contributed for their generous support. He assured them that the money would help to continue the provision of services to the people of North Tipperary into the future.
