Webinar on the menopause
THIS informative webinar is being organised by HSE Mid West Health and Wellbeing, in collaboration with The Complex Menopause Clinic at the Women’s Health Hub, Nenagh Hospital. The webinar will take place on Wednesday week, February 12, from 7 to 8.30pm.
Who Can Benefit?
The event aims to empower the nearly 59,000 women between 45-64 years of age across the Mid West with knowledge and strategies to navigate menopause effectively. 78% of women experience menopausal symptoms that interfere with their daily lives. This webinar seeks to provide practical insights and support to women and builds on the resounding success of the first Menopause and Me webinar held in October 2021, joined live by almost 380 women and watched by thousands more since.
Approximately 95% of women can consult their GP to manage menopausal symptoms effectively. For the remaining 5% of women with more complex health needs, such as pre-existing conditions, the Complex Menopause Clinic at Nenagh Hospital offers specialised care.
Dr Cathy Casey, Clinical Lead from the Women’s Health Hub, Complex Menopause Service, Nenagh Hospital, shared her enthusiasm for the event.
“Our team is dedicated to helping women with serious medical conditions manage their menopausal symptoms. We want each woman to feel heard and supported. I am looking forward to speaking at the upcoming webinar, where I’ll be discussing Perimenopause and Menopause.”
Mairead Kelly, Senior Health Promotion and Improvement Officer, emphasised the webinar’s importance.
“Menopause is a normal and natural life transition for women. At the same time, not all women experience it in the same way or at the same pace – which is why we called the webinar Menopause and Me.
We hope that by watching this webinar, women will be inspired to prioritise healthy eating, physical activity, and their mental and emotional health, all of which can support them through this life phase.”
Niamh Wallace, Head of Service for Health and Wellbeing in the HSE Mid West, added: “We are delighted to host the upcoming Menopause and Me webinar.
“We have a great line up of speakers to share their knowledge and expertise. We’ll also hear from women across the Mid West who will share their experiences of menopause. I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who is participating and look to seeing you all on February 12.”
