Treaty United have announced the signing of Tipp goalkeeper Williams

The 25-year-old brings experience of lining out in the League of Ireland with UCD and joins Treaty United having most recently lined out for Nenagh AFC.

A schoolboy with Ballymackey FC, Karl started his EA Sports LOI Academy journey on Shannonside where he spent three seasons across MU17 & MU19 level.

Carl balanced his football career with his studies when he joined UCD for the 2018 season, playing at both MU19 and Senior levels. He kept two clean sheets in six appearances for the Senior side, contributing to the team getting promoted twice including a First Division title win in 2018. He also played a key role in securing two Collingwood Cup victories.

Carl becomes the latest addition to Tommy Barrett’s squad ahead of the season kicking off this Friday and provides further competition between the sticks.

Carl spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com and was delighted to have signed for the club as well as reuniting with Tommy Barrett: “I’m delighted to have signed with Treaty United and can’t wait to get going with the lads. I have worked with Tommy at under-17 and under-19 level, so I’m happy to be working under him again. I was with UCD in recent years and have a few years of experience around the league. I know some of the lads already and the rest seem to really have bought into what we hope to achieve this year. I look forward to getting into the Markets Field on Friday and seeing the fans getting behind us for the year.”

Tommy Barrett also spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com and was happy to have a player with previous experience like Carl: “I’m delighted to have Carl onboard. He has a bit of experience from his time with UCD in the League of Ireland previously and will provide some good competition.”
