Rock of Ages musical visits Tipp
Get ready for a high-energy, unforgettable night as Rock of Ages The Musical hits the stage at the Tipperary Excel Centre from February 17 to 22! After nearly five months of hard work, the cast and crew of Tipperary Musical Society are finally set to bring this electrifying production to life.
Having spent weeks perfecting their performances at St Anne’s School, the company is now preparing to move into the Excel Theatre for tech week, where final rehearsals, set builds, costume fittings, and sound and light checks will ensure everything is perfect for opening night on Monday, February 17.
There’s palpable excitement among the cast, chorus, and committee, all eager to see their months of preparation come together on stage. The buzz in the air is contagious as everyone works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure Rock of Ages will be a show to remember.
Returning to the Tipperary Musical Society for their fourth year, the dream team of Director Paul Norton, Choreographer Stephanie Browne, and Musical Director Mary Rose McNally have once again created a production that promises to rock your world. With their expert guidance and passion for theatre the results will be nothing short of spectacular.
Rock of Ages is a jukebox musical that brings the iconic sound of 1980s glam metal to life with classic rock hits from bands like Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, and Europe. Written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi, and choreographed by Kelly Devine, this show delivers a night full of high-energy performances, memorable songs, and hilarious moments. The performers will even break the "fourth wall," connecting directly with the audience and making you feel like you're part of the rock 'n' roll action.
The production team has worked incredibly hard, but none of this would be possible without the generous support of local sponsors. With rising costs in every corner of life, the community’s response to support the show has been fantastic. Tipperary Musical Society is deeply grateful for every sponsor who has contributed to making this production a reality.
A special thank you goes out to St Anne’s School for allowing the society to use their facilities as a rehearsal space. The school has been an invaluable resource to the production team, helping bring the show to life every step of the way.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Tipperary Excel Theatre for their continued support and hospitality. The team always goes above and beyond to accommodate the needs of the musical society.
