Allianz Football & Hurling Leagues

Both our senior hurlers and footballers were in action last Saturday, and there were mixed results for both.

First into action in FBD Semple Stadium were our footballers who played host to London round 4 of division 4 of the National League. This was a game that many had expected would have been a comfortable task for Philly Ryan’s men, however Michael Maher and his charges had totally different ideas and won 2-13 to 0-17. See match report on pages 68 & 69.

Next up for our footballers is an away tie against Limerick this Saturday at 6.30pm in Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

Our senior hurlers were also in action in FBD Semple Stadium as they took on Cork in round 4 of the Allianz League Division 1A. In a game played in front of almost 12,000 people, Tipperary put in another very good performance to come out on top 2-22 to 1-21. Tipperary now have six points out of a possible eight and have put themselves right in contention for a place in the final.

The players have a weekend off from competitive action next weekend as they prepare for a trip to Nowlan Park to play Kilkenny on Sunday, March 9th at 1.15pm.

Junior 'B' Club Hurling
