Photography exhibitions coming up in Nenagh
The Diving Ireland Underwater Photography Exhibition will go on public display at the Civic Offices in Nenagh in March.
Featuring a wide and captivating array of marine life pictured around Ireland and abroad, the exhibition will be formally launched at the Civic Offices on Thursday, March 6, at 7pm.
Guest speaker on the evening will be award-winning underwater photographer Mark O'Leary.
Based in Co Clare, diving re-kindled Mark's passion for photography. He has a particular interest in wide-angle photography, attempting to capture the unique wildlife and dramatic underwater landscapes Ireland has to offer. He won the National Biodiversity Photographer of the Year award in the Ocean category in 2023.
All are welcome to the launch. The exhibition will remain on display thereafter during Civic Offices opening hours. It was on display at Nenagh Library for the month of January and proved a very popular draw there. The exhibition will whet the appetite for Diving Ireland Expo 2025, the national scuba-diving and associated watersports annual convention, which this year is being hosted by the local Lough Derg Sub Aqua Club. It will be held in the Abbey Court Hotel on the weekend of March 29-30. See www.divingirelandexpo.ie for more details.
Inviting all present to the launch of the underwater photography exhibition at last week's meeting of Nenagh Municipal District, District Administrator Rosemary Joyce added that the Press Photographers Association of Ireland exhibition will be making a welcome return to the Civic Offices. Last year's AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards exhibition was put on display there last summer. Ms Joyce said the organisers were very happy with the welcome they received in Nenagh and have asked to display the photographs in the Civic Offices again. This exhibition will mostly likely happen in April.
